Obtaining high-quality images of the front or the back of the eye has usually meant a trip to the photographic department of an NHS hospital.
Mr Lee though is pleased to have bought for his practice a portable high-quality digital camera that takes pictures of both the front of the eye and the back of the eye. The Pictor Plus is made by Volk one of the major manufacturers of high quality lenses and equipment for ophthalmology.
This allows Mr Lee to take high quality images which is particularly useful in diabetic or macular degeneration patients and aids in the diagnosis and continued management of these and many other conditions.
The images are encrypted for storage and incorporated into the patient's report so that the GP, optometrist and the patient can have a copy of the images.
This new service complements beautifully with "K9" Mr Lee's very own optical coherence tomography scanner thus he can now offer both the colour photograph and an OCT scan on patients at any location as the equipment is totally portable and always with Mr Lee.
Mr Lee believes that investment in technology and equipment is essential to be able to offer a world-class service to his patients.
